Christmas Essentials

I often get asked if I was to pick 5 Essential items from both catalogues that I wouldn’t be without for making Christmas cards, what would they be. I have thought long and hard about this and have managed to whittle it down to just 5. So here are this year’s top five!

1.   Cardstock – I wouldn’t be able to make any Christmas cards without cardstock and the two colours I couldn’t live without for Christmas is Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler

2.   Wondrous wreath stamp bundle with dies – Oh my god I cant tell you how excited I was to see this in the catalogue. How I have longed for a fabby wreath stamp set and when it came with matching framelits too, I was sold!

3.   Gift Bow die – This die is very versatile as not only can you make bows from it creating fabulous gift packaging, it also doubles up as Santa’s beard and Angels, all very good for the festive period.

4.   Gift box punch board – I gave a little squeal when I saw this in the catalogue, as yes you can make boxes with the envelope punch board, but so much easier with this new one

A lovely little package, turned into a Christmas card

Recently I had a lovely little packet arrive in the post from my upline Bekka. it is because I am now a member of our teams design team. Each month one of us has to create a project and provide a tutorial for it along with creating another project each month around our theme.

For the first project Bekka kindly sent us some things and we could create any project we wanted but we had to use one item from each packet. It was quite a challenge as these were the things we were provided with.

After a lot of thinking here is the project I came up with, its amazing how many different things can be created from the same items!

I used the heaxgonal Kraft stickers to make a wreath and used old olive ink to colour them mounted on cherry cobbler card.

The Stampin Superstars Design team member

The team I belong to at Stampin` Up! is called The Stampin Superstars and recently our upline Bekka decided she would launch a design team, which I happy to be a part of.

Our first mission was to create a project to introduce ourselves to the team, as I have been doing a lot of screen cards lately and had just received my FREE bundle for recruiting I thought I would make a baby themed one and this set was just perfect for it.

August Craft clubs make and take card

At this months craft club we made a more manly card, and there was not a flower to be seen!

We used the traveler stamp set which is ideal for the masculine cards. The sponging technique was used with daubers to create the aged effect.

I actually managed to get a card made at Craft club, usually I`m too busy helping and demonstrating to actually finish a card, but quite pleased with this quick make.
